The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer-based organization where members sit on various committees to explore and address issues important to the local business community. A large portion of the work is performed by committee members, with the Chamber staff assisting in facilitating and carrying out the plans. Ad hoc committees are formed as needed, and there are eight standing committees that meet regularly. They are as follows:
OUR BOARD
Being a board director of the Chamber of Commerce is a position of significant responsibility and leadership within the local business community. As a board director, you are entrusted with the task of guiding the strategic direction of the Chamber, advocating for the interests of its members, and fostering economic growth and prosperity in the region. This role involves active participation in decision-making processes, collaboration with fellow directors, engagement with stakeholders, and representing the Chamber in various public forums. It also requires a commitment to upholding the values and mission of the Chamber, promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in all endeavors. Ultimately, serving as a board director offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the business landscape and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
Executive Committee
This Committee consists of the President, Past President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Corporate Secretary. This Committee is responsible for addressing administrative and budgetary emergencies, appointing members to standing and special committees, and assessing annual achievements.

Finance Committee
This Committee addresses financial issues including but not limited to budgeting, financial reporting, purchasing policy, membership fee review, and premises.

Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee monitors, analyzes, and actively engages on issues affecting the local business community at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels. This includes matters related to taxation, government spending, regulatory frameworks, and public policy. The Committee works to positively influence decision-makers, advance pro-business policies, and support initiatives that promote business retention, expansion, and overall economic vitality. Programming Committee
This Committee reviews, monitors, and recommends Chamber revenue-producing projects and initiatives. This Committee has sub-committees for special events, such as the Awards Gala and Golf Tournament. AGM Awards Nominating Committee
This Committee consists of one Executive Committee member, two Directors, and a selection from the membership. This Committee is responsible for seeking and recommending members for the Board of Directors to ensure appropriate representation and a solid succession plan. Plus select Lifetime Business Achievement Award and Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award.
