Request for Proposal (RFP): Human Resources Consulting Services

 

The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is part of a network of Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade that exist in virtually every community across Ontario and Canada. The Chamber network consists of 65,000 businesses provincially and 170,000 businesses nationally. Locally, the Chamber has over 300 members and is recognized as this area's official "Voice of Business." This voice is an effective force in influencing issues and legislation affecting your business and our community. It is a membership based and not-for-profit association that is led by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.

 

We are requesting a proposal for services based on the following specifications:

 

Proposal A

  • Review and assessment of status of the current human resource related policies, procedures, processes and related documents

Desired Outcome:

  • Revision, update and/or creation of all human resources policies, procedures, processes, and documents, ensuring alignment with best practices and legislation.

 

Proposal B

  • Review and assessment of current performance management system including key performance indicators, performance review documents and process, goals setting, rewards, improvement plans and corrective action documents and procedures.

Desired Outcome:

  • Assistance with creation of an agency structure plan that ensures sustainability, delivery response and service, resiliency, business, and service evolution.
  • Creation of implementation tools for the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce to follow.

 

A proposal submission can include the above noted Proposal A or B individually or a proposal for both Proposal A and B together.

 

 

Proposed Project Timelines:

Request For Proposal Submission Deadline: September 16, 2022

Procurement Process: August 8, 2022, to September 16, 2022

Contract Awarded: September 30, 2022

Work Plan Due: October 14, 2022

Work Completion: To be defined in proposal submissions

 

Within the response, proposals must describe:

  1. Approach to delivery of the outcomes described above
  2. Past experience including working with similar organizations, capacity, number of years’ experience, areas of expertise, quality of work, adaptability, and other related proficiencies
  3. The methods/philosophy that will be used to facilitate the processes
  4. How the planning will be captured/reported
  5. Budget/Cost for the scope of this project
  6. Timeframe for completion of this work.

Three references must be included in your proposal.

The project will be tendered at the discretion of the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce. The Executive Director and HR Committee Board of Directors will review and make a decision based on a weighted point system at each step of the process, taking into consideration your experience, plan to meet the proposed outcomes and best overall value for the project. Nothing in this request for proposals mandates that the Food Bank is obliged to award a contract under this RFP. Furthermore, should the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce in its sole discretion decide not to award a contract under this RFP, the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce may create a new RFP on the same subject as this RFP.

Business Development and Membership Services Coordinator

The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is looking for an energetic individual for the position of Business Development and Member Services. The successful candidate will help deliver value to our membership base, maximize revenue generating opportunities for the Chamber and ensure members receive high quality customer experience through their membership.

Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience in developing business solutions, revenue generating strategy, managing client accounts, leading value-added customer experiences and relationship building.

The selected candidate will report to the Executive Director.

 

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit new members to the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce
  • Undertake retention activities to ensure existing members maintain their membership
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Chamber offerings to identify profitable business opportunities for members and partners
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with members and partners to grow loyalty
  • Manage regular contact with current and prospective members
  • Work with members and partners to understand their business needs and goals
  • Network in the community to promote the Chamber and to develop business leads and strengthen stakeholder relationships
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to engage new and potential members
  • Provide support to new Chamber members for integration into Chamber events, programs and marketing opportunities
  • Contribute to a healthy team environment to achieve overall Chamber objective
  • Act as a source of referral information for Chamber members
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive prospect files
  • Ensure accuracy of Chamber members data information
  • Support Chamber events through attendance, assistance, and engagement
  • Liaise with Chamber affinity program representatives to ensure accurate knowledge of all benefits of membership
  • Support Chamber committees as assigned
  • Independently visit member and prospective member workplaces
  • Other duties may be assigned

Position Requirements and Competencies

  • Educational background with an emphasis in business, sales, public relations or non-profit community development
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in business development, sales, client management and/or experience in a non-profit or membership focused organization would be an asset
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and relevant technology/CRM systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership and time management skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Detail-oriented and persuasive
  • Above average interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional customer service, sales and telephone skills
  • Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • A growth mindset with an eagerness for continual learning
  • Current and valid G class licence and insurance in good standing, with access to a vehicle

● Logo on all printed promotional material advertising the event (e.g. brochures/signs)
● Individualized social media post in the lead up to the event

Partnership Funding Intake #2 is Now Open

RTO 9’s Partnership Funding Program is designed to forge strong and diverse partnerships that either build on existing tourism products or introduce new tourism products.

Our next intake period for applications is now open! Intake #2 Applications will be for projects beginning September 6, 2022 – March 31, 2023. The opportunity to apply will close on July 25th 2022.

We have implemented some changes to the program to help tourism operators even more during the 2022 – 2023 fiscal year.

1) Applicants who are not incorporated but do have a CRA Business Number (BN) can now apply for partnership funding.

2) There is one general application.

3) There are 4 categories to apply under.
