Events and Communications Coordinator
Full Time,
37.5 hours per week
The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is this community’s "Voice of Business” serving over 500 members.
Reporting to the Executive
Director you will be responsible for:
-Planning,
organizing and executing all events (including budgets,
promotions, work plans, engaging volunteers, and sponsor relations)
-Preparing
promotional materials for projects and events
-Acquiring
sponsors for projects and events
-Maintaining
an organized office
-Responding
to inquiries through phone, email, and walk-in traffic
-Maintaining
up-to-date information; member data base and website
-Coordinating
committee and task group meetings and minute-taking
-Media
relations, advertising campaigns, and member communications
The ideal candidate will
possess the following attributes:
-Post
secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations,
Business Administration or equivalent
-Knowledge
of Microsoft Office and all its programs
-Knowledge
of Adobe an asset
-Must be
highly organized and focused
-Ability to
balance many projects and events at one time
-Excellent
writing and communication skills
-Web savvy
with superior knowledge of social media
-Ability to
utilize tact and diplomacy
-Positive
attitude – good demeanor with variety of members, clients,
suppliers, and staff
-2+ years
relevant work experience
