The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce knows the power of networks and how they can impact the growth of an individual, a business, a community. The Programming Committee is pleased to present a variety of unique opportunities for our members to meet new contacts, solidify relationships, learn information, generate ideas and increase exposure by attending and sponsoring the events and seminars.
It should be noted that event sponsorship is exclusive to member businesses. Sponsors and hosts should consider these events a rare and valuable opportunity to promote themselves, their business and their service. Business After 5 - $400
This casual networking forum has become very popular for its ease and opportunity to make many new contacts attracting well over 100 members and invited guests. It takes place the 3rd Thursday of the month from January to May, September and November. We meet at various member venues and enjoy many benefits from our media partner, 104.9 JR fm.
Enhanced Business After 5: Volunteer Appreciation - $400
August is time to demonstrate our gratitude for our most valuable asset – our volunteers. This event is a fun and casual way of saying thank you to the business leaders who dedicate time and energy to the Chamber throughout the year on behalf of the business community. See you there on August 21, 2008.
Enhanced Business After 5: Trade Show - $400
October is small business month so we go the extra mile to highlight the valuable products and services our members have to offer. Members can take advantage and put their best foot forward by purchasing a trade show table for only $200 and show off for over 180 of their fellow business people otherwise known as customers and sources of referral. Enhanced Business After 5: Christmas Cocktail - $200 (10 opportunities)
December is a time to celebrate and share holiday cheer with friends and colleagues. The Chamber Christmas Cocktail is the perfect opportunity to invite customers, suppliers and team members out for a fun evening of networking and entertainment. This event is our best attended with over 240 members and invited guests enjoying food, fun and friendship. See you there on December 18, 2008.
Enhanced Business After 5: Spring & Fall Cruises - $400 (6 opportunities)
This is a Business After 5 on the river! Cruises departing from Rockport and/or Brockville. Take advantage of networking with approximately 110 to 150 business leaders while enjoying the scenery of the St. Lawrence River on June 19th and September 18th.
Annual General Meeting
This event is the board’s opportunity to report directly to the membership on the past year’s activities and for members to ask questions and provide input. The agenda includes financial statements, annual reports from the Executive Director and the President and the election of the board of directors. This year’s event will take place on March 5, 2007 and includes dinner and keynote, Patricia Lovett-Reid, Hons. FCSI, CFP, Senior Vice President, TD Waterhouse Canada Inc.
Corporate Challenge – Various ($20-$500)
This all day event is a great opportunity for members to build their team spirit as they compete in the games while supporting local charities. The proceeds from team registrations and sponsors are donated to a different cause each year as well as the Kiwanis of Brockville who have volunteered scorekeepers for over 20 years. Loads of networking, fun and prizes for everyone! This year’s event will be held at Hardy Park on May 24, 2007.
Mixed Golf Tournament – Various ($20-$2000)
What kind of Chamber would we be if we didn’t play golf? Our annual tournament is a sell out every year as we hit the links at the Brockville Country Club. This afternoon of networking with 144 members of the business community including dinner, prizes and fun will take place on June 6, 2008.
Women's Golf Tournament – Various ($20-$2000)
Our women’s tournament is also a sold out event. The Women’s Tournament takes place on August 8, 2008 at the Brockville Country Club. This afternoon of networking attracts 80 plus golfers annually. This special ladies day includes dinner, prizes and tonnes of fun!
Annual Awards of Excellence Gala - Various ($600-$4800)
This program recognizes the outstanding achievements of the individual, organizations and businesses in our community. Over 200 business leaders gather each year celebrate the nominees and awards recipients for Business, Small Business of the Year, Community Excellence and Tourism Awards and the Business Person and Citizen of the Year. This event will take place on November 6, 2008.
Networking Breakfasts & Luncheons ($300)
Join us throughout the year for Breakfast Connections and the Power Lunch as we gather with 60 to 90 members of the business community who gather to network and listen to keynote speakers as they inform us about what is going on in the community, province or nation or share information on how to do business better. This event series is an excellent way to look for ways to stay informed and connected. Check out the Chamber website for event dates and topics.
