The Pursuit of Excellence

Excellence - it is a lofty goal, one whose quest is not always recognized but is always rewarded. And the rewards extend to the community in which excellence is found. Fortunately, such is the case in the Brockville region. Everyday, individuals, organizations and businesses in this community cultivate excellence in various areas leading to quality of life for all to enjoy. You are invited to participate in expressing our community’s appreciation as the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors strives to recognize these achievements through the annual awards of excellence program. It is our hope you will assist in identifying those most deserving of recognition in the following categories:
1. Small Business of the Year
2. Business of the Year
Nominee companies/organizations will have demonstrated growth, innovation, community service and over all performance excellence. Other factors that should be considered in the nomination many include quality standards, employee/labour relations, training/support for personal growth, technical achievement, customer service or marketing / promotional achievement.
3. Community Excellence Award
This resident business/organization (including any branch/division office, not for profit or public sector entity) will have demonstrated a notable contribution to the quality of life in the Brockville Area, by volunteering time and/or financial support to those activities that enrich, protect or entertain the citizens of Brockville.
4. Tourism Award
This business, organization or individual has demonstrated a notable contribution to the development of tourism in the Brockville region, by volunteering time and/or financial support, acting as an ambassador or providing an innovative contribution resulting in an economic impact.
5. Business Person of the Year
This person is a leader within the business community. The individual has demonstrated innovation and effectiveness in developing an original product/service that has positively impacted their industry and/or created a niche market. The nominee has developed a creative corporate strategy that has lead to increased efficiency, productivity and profitability. The nominee has provided extraordinary service and/or leadership contributing to the quality of life in the community.
6. Citizen of the Year
This person is a role model within the business community. The individual has a strong sense of volunteerism and demonstrated a high level of community contribution, personal sacrifice and ongoing commitment to the community.
